The admission procedure is as per the guidelines of the Government of Orissa. Students with ranks in DET will be admitted in the specified disciplines through Diploma Entrance Test. Option may be exercised during counseling on the basis of rank subject to availability of seat.
Admission Procedure
Students having ranks in Diploma Entrance Test(DET) will be admitted to the above branches through the DET conducted by the DTE & T, Government of Orissa. The students are taken admission through Central Counseling conducted by DTE & T, Orissa are 85% of the total intake and Institute level under NRI Scheme takes up 15% of the total intake.
Selection for admission is made on the basis of rank secured in the DET, subject to the availability of seats in the institutions and disciplines at the time of central counseling for admission.
DET refers to the Diploma Entrance Test conducted by the State of Orissa for admission to different courses of the Engineering / Technology candidates who have passed / appeared the 10th class examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Orissa or its equivalent examination securing pass mark in both Math & Sc are only eligible for admission. A separate DET (LA) shall be conducted for lateral admission for candidates having passed eight 2 years ITI trade or +2 Vocational securing not less than 60% marks for admission in to 3rd Semester.
The reservation policy of the Government of Orissa and the Government approved procedure strictly followed for allocation of seats for reserved to different categories which is applicable to the Orissa state candidates only.
Admission is strictly based on DET merit rank and choice of the candidate with respect to institution and course given during the counseling, subject to availability.
The lower age limit is 14 years and upper age 25 years for admission to all Diploma courses within the State of Orissa. Three years age relaxation in the upper age limit is allowed for SC/ST candidates.
Outside State candidates are eligible for admission into the 1st semester of the 3 year Diploma course by appearing the Diploma Entrance Test (DET). A separate merit list will be drawn from all the outside State candidates and they will be considered for admission only after the merit list of Orissa State candidates of all categories is completely exhausted. Outside State candidates are not eligible for Lateral admission into 3rd semester.
